Do you have an idea?

Co-write a book with Katherine.
Although there are a range of ways to structure a co-written book here are a few a starting points to consider.

Once the book is ready for production (based on the structure that was chosen initially) it can be published in one of the following ways:
- You work with a publishing company and pay contracted rates.
- Self Publish under your Kindle Direct Publishing / B&N Press (or similar) with you paying contracted rates plus legal fees.
- Self Publish under my Kindle Direct Publishing / B&N Press (or similar) with me paying royalties to you and no upfront costs to you except legal fees.

Promotion of a new book is a huge undertaking. Please be sure that your are ready to get your face and our story out there. This means that you will need to commit to scheduling and attending book signings and promotional events.

Sign a Collaboration Agreement

Step 1 is a legal Collaboration Agreement.  This protects your idea and my writing.  Once the agreement is finalized we will have a few conversations about the story concept.  You will share relevant documents and photographs.

I then take our notes and collaborative work and write a children's story.  You will then be required to sign a non-disclosure before the first draft and initial concept illustrations are shared.
Once the story and illustration concepts are approved I will complete all of the illustrations, typeset, have it edited, and get the book ready for production.

Production & Promotion

Once the story and illustration concepts are approved I will complete all of the illustrations, typeset, have it edited, and get the book ready for production. Once the book is ready for production the most important piece is promotion.  As a co-author you will need to be ready to get the book noticed. When promoting a book you must be willing to have 10-50 copies of the book on hand (depending on the size of the event) These books can be purchased at cost when working with KDS or B&N.  When working with a publishing company you usually will need to purchase a set number of copies and pay for them upfront based on the run requirements.

Katherine builds stylized worlds for her characters that balance repetition for young children and interesting elements to keep the pages turning.

Wee 'Ouse Asbury Grove

The Wee Fae ‘Ouse, or the Fairy Cottage, was initially completed in 1871, by Robert Sanderson. Mr. Sanderson was a devout Methodist and shipbuilder. With the help of family, friends, and colleagues from her days in construction full time, Katherine will reinvent the cottage to make a retreat for the body and spirit where she plans to write and create art.
