Carla Panciera’s newest book is Barnflower: A Rhode Island Farm Memoir. Her collection of short stories, Bewildered, received AWP’s 2013 Grace Paley Short Fiction Award. She has also published two collections of poetry: One of the Cimalores (Cider Press Book Award) and No Day, No Dusk, No Love (Bordighera Poetry Award). A recipient of a 2022 Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant in creative nonfiction, Panciera is recently retired from teaching high school English at Ipswich High School.
A 1997 graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration, Karen worked as an elementary art school teacher before transitioning into her full-time career as a freelance artist. She currently lives in Swampscott with her two children, her husband Brandon and their three pets, Ani, Goose and Obi.
Jennifer Drummond lives in Asbury Grove, contemplates nature through photography and poetry, and reads voraciously by the fireplace. E.A. Neeves is the author of After You Vanished. She grew up in New England, where she spent many summers lifeguarding at an idyllic lake, and occasionally catching snapping turtles. BJ Magnani's fascination with toxicology led her to a career in pathology and laboratory medicine. She is Professor of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Emerita at Tufts University School of Medicine and the author of the Dr. Lily Robinson thriller series (The Queen of All Poisons, The Power of Poison, A Message in Poison) about a Boston physician recruited by the U.S. government as a covert assassin. A portion of the proceeds from her novels helps women receive free breast and cervical cancer screening through the CAP Foundation.
Dale T. Phillips has published novels, story collections, non-fiction, and over 80 short stories. Stephen King was Dale's college writing teacher, and since then, Dale has found time to appear on stage, television, radio, in an independent feature film, and compete on Jeopardy (losing in a spectacular fashion).
Joan Wilking's novella, Mycology, won the 2016 Wild Onion Novella Prize. It was published in 2017. Her short story, Clutter, received Special Mention in the 2017 Pushcarts. Her short fiction and non-fiction has been published extensively online and in print in The Atlantic, Ascent, Elm Leaves Journal, Hobart, Other Voices, The MacGuffin, and elsewhere over the years.
Since an early age Linda has been centered on the creative process. Starting in the 2D arena (painting, photography) over time she moved into creativity in her professional life as a goldsmith and an acupuncturist. This breadth of experience contributes to her present vision. An off and on engagement with photography over 50 years, she's recently found new inspiration integrating diverse perspectives with new tools.
Christopher J DeStefano is an award winning chef and food writer who has been cooking professionally for over 16 years. In 2008 DeStefano opened his celebrated prepared food shop and restaurant, Christopher’s Table on the North Shore of Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to running the day to day operation of his food shop, he has written food articles for local publications, led culinary tours through Paris, and hosted hundreds of guests at elaborate dinners in bucolic farm fields as part of the Dinner on the Farm series.
Heather McConley has been a StoryMaker with PaperPie for 17+ years. She holds a bachelor's degree in International Studies and also loves math, but her first love was always reading. When she stumbled upon PaperPie one day, she found a flexible business that helped her own children in addition to feeding her soul. As a certified Permaculture Designer, Natural Foods Chef, mother of 2 and grandmother of 3 I believe that inspiring young people to embrace ecologically sound environmental practices is the key to saving our precious planet Earth.
During the 1960s, I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts with a large Irish-Hungarian family.
Fortunately for me, I followed my passion for writing.
In the 1970s, I completed my studies at the Northeastern University School of Radiologic Technology. From there, I spent the next several years working in Medical Imaging.

My name is Ari Massos, and I grew up right here in New England. I Didn’t always resonate with the community around me growing up as gay, but it was through writing that I could feel a connection to other people that I might not have had the courage to reach out otherwise. As well as being able to express myself in ways that helped me through challenging aspects of my life. These poems are what eventually helped me in coming back here to re-fall in love with a place that I had almost forgotten how beautiful it was all along.
John Burciaga's career includes journalism and poetry. He has recently begun a local initiative in Newburyport called Poetry In Public Places and his poems have been displayed in various businesses and will be shown at the Firehouse performance Center in the coming year. Currently he leads a monthly Poetry class at the Senior/Community Center.
